Hello and welcome to my new blog on food recipes. As a kid, I was a person who always ran away from kitchen, only to realize that as an adult I would make it my second home. Floret's corner here brings to you recipes, creating a memory lane to your mom's  kitchen. Most of my recipes here are my mom's with a slight touch of my own. Hence the blog is named after her. Hope you like and try them out. Do share your reviews for my posts. Also with this first article, I publish a logo for my blog.

Kalladka Tea!

One of the famous tea back in my hometown, Mangalore. Kalladka tea is named after it's place Kalladka. More than the taste, this tea is an art in itself. It is famously also known as 3 layered tea. I got obsessed with making this since my brother started travelling to Bangalore, and he always stopped at Kalladka to drink this tea also known as KT. I wondered how can there be 3 layers in tea until I gave it try myself. Here goes the recipe. Ingredients: 1 cup milk 1/2 cup water 1.5 tablespoon tea powder Sugar To make KT: Firstly boil milk. Add desired amount of sugar. Next step is turning the milk frothy. For this you will need 2 cups. Pour milk from one cup to another from quite a distance to make it frothy. In 1-2 minutes you will see a layer of froth appearing on top of the milk. Simultaneously, prepare tea decoction. Boil it to obtain dark color. Crispy Chicken Chilli!

During the lock down we definitely had a tough time getting over our cravings. Common cravings would be chaats, chinese or any other street food. Today I have an irresistible craving for some Chinese food, specially the starter kind of dish. Indo-Chinese food is a real winner when it comes to starters. This dish is always a hit when served with fried rice or noodles.   Here goes the recipe: Ingredients: For Marination: 2 chicken breasts 1/2 onion 1 inch ginger 6 garlic cloves 1.5 Tablespoon Soy sauce 1 teaspoon chilli powder Salt Process: Clean and cut chicken breasts to bite size pieces. Chop 1/2 onion. Fry them till caramelized. Do not brown or over fry them Now in a blender take the caramelized onion and ginger and garlic. Blend it to a smooth paste. In a bowl take soy sauce, red chilli powder, salt and ground paste. Mix it well Marinade the chicken pieces with the mixture, and set aside for an hour. Beef Momos!

I always wondered how did the unique combination of meat or veggies covered in blankets of maida would be so tempting and lip smacking. To top it up the taste of chutney just gets us all drooling. Momos is the first love of us all. After chicken and mushroom momos I gave a try on beef momos. This definitely turned out to be the best.  Here goes the recipe: Ingredients for stuffing: 1 cup beef mince 1 small onion chopped 2 cloves garlic chopped 1 green chilli chopped 1 tablespoon soy sauce 1 Tablespoon Sriracha sauce 1 tspn pepper powder Spring onions Salt for taste To make stuffing: In a wok add 1tbspn oil and fry onions till translucent.  Add in the minced garlic.
